You might have been thinking of winter color, like white or the darker natural colors, but experts are thoroughly convinced that red color can, and will, revitalize your home. So red! Yes, It can be used as a color for an entryway to your home, or as an accent wall for decorations you want to pop out.

Of course, the choice of January colors can depend on a lot of things. Perhaps a paint manufacturer is partial to a new color they have just mixed. Of course, they will want to promote that one. If you have an interior decorator, and they have a favorite color, they will lean in that direction, but what if you don’t want to go to all the trouble and expense of painting or remodeling? There are other options you can choose as well.

Use Accents

Okay, perhaps your sitting in the doctor’s waiting room and your thumbing through one of the magazines. You see a color that catches your eye. You fall head over heels for it, but you don’t have the time or money to go to the extremes in the picture you have found. Go for the accent colors.

Think about the furniture in your living room for instance. Do you have throw pillows on the couch?  Would simply putting a new cover on those sad looking cushions make the room look better? How about the rug? Changing out your old rug for a new one with the color that you like and also matches the throw pillows will pull it all together in a new look.

Perhaps the bedroom is the easiest room in the house to use accent pieces to add those January colors. A new sheet sets that are in a Dark Blue, Blue, Dark Red hue are both relaxing and in the right colors to give your a positive energy. Your duvet cover can easily be changed without much expense, as can the shams on your pillows.

If you have a bathroom that you want to gussy up, add some January colors in the towels, rugs and another soft furnishing. It’s that simple.

You don’t have to break the bank—or your back—to make your home pop with new January colors. By adding touches of color throughout the house, you can make your home feel fresh and new. Even the kitchen can be dressed up with something as simple as new dish clothes and towels in the colors you have chosen. Also, have fun with the idea and add a small touch of color where you’d least expect. A vase or even a coaster will do.
